My mom and my quest...

Growing up I always wanted to be a an Excercise/Physical Therapist.  Living in a household with a mother with multiple sclerosis, I always wanted to figure out how to help the body help itself.  Watching my mother struggle and progressively go from a cane, to a walker, to wheel chair bound, haul around several pill boxes of medicines, and go to several doctors across the country, and spend summers in the hospital after set backs with her illness caused me to want to help in some sort of way.  I used to go to physical theapy appointments with her and they would 

Three Examples of Yoga Therapy

Yoga is a way of using our minds and bodies to feel good (therapeutic effects). Try cow's face (ghomukhasana) arms for shoulder flexibility and care. Use yoga breathing (pranayama) for energy and filtered air. Practice swan-feather pose (pinca-hamsasana) for lumbago and mind/body awareness. These poses are anecdotel for me and may help you too.

Take care of your health before working out

Excited to get back into the gym! The asthma monster had me down for a few weeks. I'm am soooo ready to get back to my routine. Tip today: if you get the flu or a cold, put your energy into getting healthy. Don't go to the gym. Your body will have to split energy between muscle recovery and fighting your illness, which will make getting better take longer. Also, no one wants to workout next to someone who's coughing and sneezing. :) Take care of your body, it's the only one you've got!
