Back to School - Keeping Phyiscal Activity in your Child's Day

School’s back in session & that means more sitting for a population that needs to move to be mentally & physically healthy! Have you been keeping your kids active this summer? If so, you may be concerned about how to keep that up now. Students need at least 60 minutes a day of movement. If your student is not in involved in a sport where are some ways to keep them active. Get them outside, turn the TV off , start the day off with a stretch. We are the only mammals that don't do that! Animals actively stretch automatically when they get up.

 With holiday season upon us, it is easy to get down on our body image.  Many people gain an average of ten pounds during the holidays. With all of the delicious foods and beverages, it is easy to see why.  I recently had my 41st birthday in November and many of my gifts were treats that I don’t eat regularly. Usually I will eat some and give the rest away.  Sometimes I will eat it all.  The difference now is that I am kind to myself regardless of what choice I make. I am a lot healthier for it.

Determination+Hard Work= RESULTS and the cool stuff :)

The determination on this client of mine is like nothing ive ever seen! She came to me wanting to lose weight and tone up... I had no idea how much she would actually put into it but I was ready to run if she was.Day one came and it wasnt looking good... barely a 20 second plank (on the forearms) and 20 squats and she had taken a seat.3 months later..She has bought 3 new pairs each one 2 sizes smaller than the last.She flips 500lb tires.She can do L sits on the parallel bars and is well on her way to doing pullups.
