Simplicity and Complexity

Most people who have enough resources to eat out from time to time have gone to a restaurant where the complexity and display of the food is more pronounced than its ability to nourish (or sometimes its flavor). This is a cultural dichotomy: simple comfort food, and food as art. My favorite meal is a cup of assam, an orange, some almonds, and a piece of bread. But I also enjoy paella and cassoulet. I just know I've been served food where breading and gravy and garnish is hiding a base that is dry and tasteless.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a safe, fun, relaxing, fulfilling holiday season! While I firmly believe that short-lived New Years resolutions are not good for us-I like to tell people to form "habits, not resolutions"- I do respect that MANY people take the first step by making a resolution. After all, most journeys are one day, one step at a time. And making the decision to change is definitely the first step! So I applaud ALL of you who have made health/fitness/wellness related resolutions!! Good for you!!

It's been a while. Here's what's been on my mind this past week.

It has been a while since creating a new blog post.  For that, I apologize.  Not that I am the most important person in your world to pay attention to, but I do feel as though I can provide some good information to like-minded individuals.  So here's what has been on my mind this week.

FIND YOUR MOTIVATION

Motivation comes from all types of different places and is extremely important when beginning your fitness journey. Some people are searching to improve their health while others could be exercising to look better. You truly need to find something that will help motivate you each day to get out of bed and get a solid training session in.

RUN YOUR HEALTH TAKES A BIG STEP

I am NOT techy at all so today is a HUGE step for me! I am BLOGGING and CREATED a page that will be all inclusive. I look back at the begining of my own health journey 3 years ago when I was very overweight and unhealthy and my daughter Momo was diagnosed with Cancer and I have to say I have come a long way. My mission is to motivate others to change their health and live their ideal lives. Looking back to my unhealthy past I had no freakin clue what a healthy lifestyle was, I thought a salad once a week was a doing great!

How to Best Reward Yourself in Life

Over the years that I have spent since my life changing event of blowing out my knee, and realizing what it means to truly be hurt and know your weaknesses. This event in my life taught me how much of a challenge it is to get back on your feet after life has knocked you down and knocked you out.  The big question is, "Do you want it bad enough?"  As Rocky said, "...But it aint about how hard you're hit.  It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.  How much can you take and keep moving forward?
