Another workout down for my client Melisa. Half way through, in her exhausted state of being she managed to tell me she loves working out.. She said she used to hate it when she was younger because it "hurt." She started a little less than a month ago and is already down 12 lbs and 13 total inches.Everything disappears when I'm working out. All the stress of my day is gone in an instant and the only thing i can think about is what im doing right here and now.
The determination on this client of mine is like nothing ive ever seen! She came to me wanting to lose weight and tone up... I had no idea how much she would actually put into it but I was ready to run if she was.Day one came and it wasnt looking good... barely a 20 second plank (on the forearms) and 20 squats and she had taken a seat.3 months later..She has bought 3 new pairs each one 2 sizes smaller than the last. She flips 500lb tires. She can do L sits on the parallel bars and is well on her way to doing pullups.
Did you know 50% of Americans set themselves a New Year’s Resolution? My concept is people want to change themselves for the better. After all, most resolutions are geared towards personal improvements of some sort, which is pretty amazing! However the flip side of the coin is that 88% of all those who set resolutions from America and around the world fail. Sadly year after year disappointed minds tally up to about 156 million failed resolutions. However we can’t beat ourselves up for not meeting the goal. Did you know there is a science
Throughout the month of December, we have been giving our fitness studio a serious facelift. We replaced the office type flooring with light rubberized gym-flooring and painted the walls and ceiling. Recently some friends and I met for lunch. When the waiter asked for my order I felt all eyes on me. It was as though the world had stopped...
1. Understand Their Cognitive AbilitiesAccording to the American Psychological Association, teens may be emotionally immature, but they have reached cognitive maturity by age 16 (Steinberg et al. 2009). By then they have developed reasoning skills, logical thinking, metacognition (thinking about their thinking) and abstract thinking (Huebner 2012). Don’t talk down to teens; instead, ensure that exercises make sense to them.
For the last 4 weeks I have had the opportunity to run another Urban Boot Camp. Urban Boot Camp (UBC) is held outdoors from 0430-0530, Monday thru Friday. We are outside unless rain or lightning becomes a safety issue. Programming is such that all fitness levels will be satisfied with the intensity.
TTraining programs are designed by Dr. Greenberg working in concert with the client based upon the client's goals, current level of fitness, experience, personal preference, medical or physical limitations, and time or financial restraints.
