Hot weather is almost here!  It's so important we keep ourselves and our children Hydrated!  It's often difficult to make sure we are getting enough water and most tend to believe that that the sugary drinks are good for us, giving us they hydration we need.  With our growing epidemic of 1 out 3 children being obese, let's focus on keeping Hydrated without the extra sugar!  Try the Hydrate Popsicle!  It's a FUN way to get Hydrated without the sugar!

Should Fitness Technology be used with Children?

After Reading Ryan Halverson's article in IDEA's fitness Journal: I thought I would write my take on the article as well.It has been shown that children who are relatively sedentary and are opposed to physical activities whether it due to being psychological or physical in nature the use of Active Video Games (AVG’s) may help these children who are apprehensive to become more active.

Back to School - Keeping Phyiscal Activity in your Child's Day

School’s back in session & that means more sitting for a population that needs to move to be mentally & physically healthy! Have you been keeping your kids active this summer? If so, you may be concerned about how to keep that up now. Students need at least 60 minutes a day of movement. If your student is not in involved in a sport where are some ways to keep them active. Get them outside, turn the TV off , start the day off with a stretch. We are the only mammals that don't do that! Animals actively stretch automatically when they get up.
