The dreaded “C” word, cardiovascular exercise or cardio for short. This is often done as part of some resolution you’ve made around New Years to lose weight. Or punishment for that juicy hamburger you ate last night.Did you really need that extra serving of fries? Come on, you know that answer.
This post title depicts the atmosphere in our XTREME FITNESS Makeover. Two weeks in and attitudes have changed from timid to I CAN DO THIS! Workouts are changed to ensure no two are alike and better yet they are productive and challenging.
The title of this blog adequately describes what happened the first session of week 2. The participants are in this program to improve their fitness levels, body comps and lifestyle. All the while having individual goals in a group environment. Okay- So what the heck happened last night?!?! A few words come to mind; loaded for bear and challenge me with a butt kickin! The workout was absolutely owned by each and every one of them!!!
When designing your training program, I suggest sitting back and analyzing WHY you are training? This is important as it should dictate HOW you train. The obvious example is for someone training for a marathon.

If you are following this blog please help me cheer these gals on. They absolutely rocked their group workout this morning! Energies were high and with obvious determination they powered though RIP TIDE. In the coming hours I am sure they will be icing, foam rolling and stretching! It's a good thing we covered those 3 very important revovery items. :) If things continue as they are now there is no doubt what so ever that goals will be met and every one of these ladies will continue their journey. Check ya later and have a great weekend!
Although this was our first session these women were impressive. Following body comps and introductions the majoritiy participated in an Intro To Kettlebell Session. Doing so prepared them for what's coming down the pipe. The others rocked a water rower/kettlebell circuit. Each group is assigned a trainer. A portion of the training session is set for the group to discuss that days lession. FB groups allow us to break out with our coaching for some individual team coaching. It hasn't happened yet but I suspect a bit of team competition is in our future.
Tomorrow we kick off a challenging six week program. 2 teams of 7 will work individually and as a group to rally up by improving their body comps and weight. The person who creates the most change will win a years membership to Balance Personal Training's FIT LAB. Throughout our journey I'll be blogging our progress. Let's all rally around all these hard working individuals!
