The FIT LAB is a fitness facility that has been termed 'Boutique Fitness'. Don't let the word boutique lead you to think the FIT LAB is all frilly and no sweat! Quite the opposite is true. Our culture is one of comadarie, empowered training in several venues and all of it...even barre is a challenge. Shaking quads will prove it. :) All instructors carry national certs and live to give our clients a challenging workout.
Kettlebells were developed in Russia in the 1700s, primarily for weighing crops. Seems the farmers enjoyed the physical benefits kettlebells provided and in time we now have the Sport of Kettlebell! I absolutely love training with them as do my clients/members. Why not? They provide benefits that most other weight training does not. This iron globe with a handle on it addresses all components of fitness! KBs are great for 1:1 personal training, group environment and training sport specific. LOVE Kettlebell training!
Cardiorespiratory training (Cardio for short) has many health benefits and as little as 10-20 minutes a day can:· Give you a stronger heart· Reduce your risk of heart disease· Reduce cholesterol levels (so you can eat more bacon…just kidding!)· Reduce blood pressure
Here's something people rarely talk about: Walking has immediate benefits. Sure, we all know regular strolls help you slim down and fend off illnesses like heart disease and diabetes over your lifetime (serioulsy, check out all these amazing benefits of walking). But walking also has a strong short game: A growing body of research shows that it delivers on-the-spot rewards.
Exercise is a key contributor to health and happiness: Beyond triggering that runner's high, it's associated with a higher quality of life, improved health, and a better mood. But even if your day is "crazy busy," there are still ways to get sneak some cardio into your routine.
It’s often the case that when people start a fitness program they go all out and end up doing exercises or programs that are well above where they really should be starting. This can lead to frustration but worse yet, it can lead to injury. Finding out your proper starting fitness level is the first step to engaging in an appropriate program. There are a couple tests that trainers will use to determine this for you.
HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a fitness training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.
