HowStrong Are You?

We all measure strength in different way, some by physical weight, others on the problems, burdens or situations we bear. I say define what strength means to you, then revisit your definition. Does it change based on circumstances or situations? As long as you are comfortable and secure in defining strength in your life, the. You will be strong!.............. "Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength." -- Arnold Schwarzenegger

STUDY: Lack Of Exercise Twice Deadly As Obesity

It’s no secret that inactivity is bad for your health, but it may be worse than previously thought. According to a new study, it’s even more deadly than obesity—twice as deadly, in fact. Researchers at Cambridge University studied more than 334,000 men and women over 12 years. After measuring height, weight, waist circumference and self-reported levels of physical activity over that time span, it was found that moderate physical activity helped to lower a person’s chances of premature death.

Time Out

How many times have I heard, "just no time", well I say taking 15 minutes a day to be active is better than not at all. Most of us think we don’t have enough time to exercise. What a distorted paradigm! We don’t have time not to. We’re talking about three to six hours a week – or a minimum of thirty minutes a day, every other day. That hardly seems an inordinate amount of time considering the tremendous benefits in terms of the impact on the other 162 – 165 hours of the week.” ~ Stephen Covey

How Strong Are Ayou?

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will-Mahatma Gandhi Strength is not always determined by size but by your desire to succeed nd be best you can be. I don't care how much you can lift or move objects, what I care about is how much you care about YOU. Be strong in your convictions, morals, compromise, etc. Then you can truly lift up others, now that is strong!

Chicken Nuggets

This is really not about food, well kind of. A fellow trainer recently sent a FB post on frozen chicken nuggets. It had 3 different names but stressed full of Omega-3 and whole grain. It reminded me of someone ordering a triple cheeseburger, extra fries and a diet coke for good measure. Some foods, especially processed are just not good for you, no matter how it is dressed up it appears, Bon Apetit

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  -Albert Einstein

Oops, I did it again

Ok, I know that sounds misleading, but I did actually. My training today takes me to a few wellness centers (Piedmont Healthcare) where we do group exercise. So, I am challenging and pushing hard, our post New Years workout when I noticed 2 new members hiding in the rear. Normally I meet and greet everyone but was running late between facilities so did not get a chance. Well, suffice to say they were spent after a few minutes, when one of them commented "how are these other members keeping up?'.
