Question asked by Brook Benten Jimenez 378 days ago
Workout DVD presenters, have you gone to offering downloadable versions of your titles?
The price for a download (rental or purchase) is significantly less than a hard copy, but I'm curious to know if you are able to reach so many more purchasers that it's worth it. I'm also interested if you found that offering a downloadable version diminished your sales of hard copies. Is it a huge benefit to not have to worry with shipping/handling? What site(s) do you use for your downloads? If not your own site, what is the revenue split?

Hi Brook,
Great question. Instant downloads are definitely the way to go these days. For about a year now I have seen a big decline in my actual DVD sales and much more interest in instant downloads. Many of my titles are rentable on YouTube, NetFlix, OnDemand and more. It really does seem that today's savvy tech-consumer wants what they want NOW. And creating digital, downloadable content is a great solution to having to stock and ship actual hard copies. The best part is that your instant downloads, whether video or audio can be purchased at any hour (24/7) and your consumers will have INSTANT access to you. I am in production of several new videos, however in the meantime I have an instant download interval training workout on my website. My clients and fans have love how easy it is to access and upload to their mobile device. (Feel free to check it out at http://bit.ly/cardiolatino).
