What KEY benefits to exercise AND hiring of a PT do you use in your sales presentation?
Do you feel that your sales presentation should strike fear/call to action?

I do not believe in fear as a motivator. It may start things moving but if it is not replaced by positive images, it will not last.
My main points when talking to people who are interested in personal training are my ability to understand where people should start and how to progress them safely. To some people being accountable to somebody is a motivator, to others it is just to have company and just not have to worry about the exercise selection. They just 'surrender' knowing that they will exercise in the best way for their currrent situation.
I do not have a formal 'sales presentation'. Definitely do not want one, either. Easy fo rme to say, though, because when people contact me they usually have already made up their mind that they are looking for a personal trainer.

When I market to the military sure...I save careers. As a former Fitness Testing Specialist for the Air Force I know first hand the pressure that they are under to pass their tests. I eliminate the stress and provide results..I have saved more than a few careers in the last couple of years, so yes I market that.

I do not use FEAR as a marketing tool! First, in my opinion it lends a negative connotation to what we do for a living, and I want to associate my work with "positives" rather than negatives. I stress the benefits of consistent exercise (both physical and mental), as well as the whole concept of prevention rather than rehabilitation. Preventing an issue before it arises is a much healthier way to approach our bodies, minds and spirits, and so I use that as a "call to action."

I don't think it has to strike fear, no~ not many of us are motivated by that unless it comes from a doctor. Building rapport is the goal- that's hard to do if you're trying to scare a prospective client.
The benefits of hiring a PT is less risk of injury, better use of time, and greater motivation to continue because you know that what you are doing is effective- you begin to see and feel changes right away with the right trainer. That doesn't mean someone couldn't do it themselves...but I let them know I believe 100% that they will do it faster and more efficiently with a trainer.
The call to action comes from having created a great offer, and presenting it at the right time and making it irresistible...not always available. Procrastination is just all too common.
Right now I'm not doing laundry...how about you?
