what is the name of the fascia therapy that requires the therapist not to use her hands?

Years ago I sustained an injury that left me in a whole lot f pain, after going through much sports therapy and other types it was recommended I try a new technique. This require that the therapist not to touch me but to put her hands above me and move the fascia that way. I thought it a lot of hooie and brought my husband along to make sure this was legit. After about an hour of this type of therapy, she was ringing wet and I was feeling a tinge bit better. After three treatment I could tell that a big difference had taken place. She later told me that I had a lot of inflamation in my back muscles We later moved east and now I am having problems again and would like to find a therapist who does the same type of therapy.

Sounds like Reiki.

Joanne,
Thank you for your answer I looked up Reiki but it did not fit what I experienced.
What I read was about the use of direct hands on. My therapist did not touch me what so ever when she did the treatment. The only time she touched me was when she want to determine where the pain was.

Thank you.
Joan

Reiki does not fit the type of therapy I had done. There was no direct hand involvement of any kind placed on my body. The only "direct hand" involvement was when she asked me to point or try to point where my most intense pain was located. Other than that the therapy consisted of ABOVE THE BODY HAND MOVEMENT. By the time she was done she was wringing wet with perspiration and then told me no wonder I was in pain as I had lots of inflammation in the muscles and around the nerve roots.

I asked her the name of the type of therapy she used and she mentioned something about it being related to miafacia therapy. I thought she gave me a paper about it but for the life of me I can't find it.

Thank you
Joan

Sounds like Healing Touch therapy. Something I learned about as a nurse, but I have no experience with it.
