What is the ideal career pathway for somone who wants to open an aerial arts/ fitness gym?
I am looking for something close to LA. Many articles suggest to look for programs that teach the information you'll need to know in the field. All the dance and fitness programs I have researched seem the be the same when applied to this field. All the certifications I have looked at as well seems so similar I am unsure of which is my best option. I want to start working on my goals and I have no clue where to start.
I also suggest a Nationally Accredited Certification, either as a group fitness leader, exercise specialist or personal trainer, depending on your role.
From there I would look at all of the experience you have and write it all down, which will help you your business plan/model
Consult with a tax attorney, a business lawyer, look into the cost of liability insurance, overhead costs, payroll etc.
Find a niche and target market, do your research on pricing cost and advertising.
it will be easier to make suggestions if you describe your own background. Do you have any credentials in the fitness field or any personal experiences?
I would visit a place to talk about the schooling needed with the owner(s), employees and clients; then work in such a place to get the best view of all my options.
As far as experience, I was a assistant hula hoop fitness instructor for awhile. After that before my move here I performed aerial arts for club events.
If you want to provide those services you may need to get some certifications or a degree.
If not you can own the gym and administrative part, and go with either employees or independent contractors.
