Hi Ryan,

yes, I have used it from time to time. It is a 'contract' between the client and the trainer where the client makes a 'pledge' to hold up his end of the bargain and 'do as told' so that those lofty goals can actually turn into reality. The trainer in turn pledges to give advice to the best of his abilities.

It works very well for some people and truly helps them achieve their goals. It helps the trainer with those who just 'talk the talk' but not 'walk the walk' and then try to blame everybody outside of themselves if things are not going as they want.

Karin,

I really like how you phrased this statement. I had never really thought about using one but think I may start now.

Thanks!

Hello Ryan,
Yes, we use a Personal Training contract which is similar to our Membership Contract. Simply...where one agrees to purchase a specific amount of PT sessions in a set time period.
I Hope This Helps,
Michael

Sure, it's a document drawn up by either or both parties that outlines exercise goals and or whatever health goals the client is attempting to change.
Both parties sign it and review it as deemed necessary

It's a great accountability tool

I use it as a responsibility check w/new clients. I get them to capture the emotion of the moment and pen it to paper. Now all I have to do is do what I do effectively, if/when I see less than respectable effort on their part I elude to their "contracted promise to themself" to effect the certain changes listed.

It is a must in guarantee programs Can be simple or as complex as u like it.

Hi Ryan,
It may, in brief, define the client expectations and the trainer expectations. This helps prevent conflicts of interests later on.

According to the American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer Manual, "some personal trainers use behavior contracts with their clients to help them make a commitment to behavior change. Contracts typically spell out the behavior the client is expected to perform and a reward that will be given to the client upon successful achievement."

Hope this is of help to you.
