by far push ups and vary them. You can add a weight on your back or have a small kid sit on the upper back. Change the width of the hands, alternate the hands or feet. Tons of variations you can incorporate into a good upper body workout, anywhere you're at

Push ups and pull ups! They may not be everyone's favorite, but you feel so much better after you've done them!

I enjoy training my upper body using the TRX. Quick transitions, easy change intensity and portable.

Pull-ups and dips ( these are not for everyone ) push-ups and standing dumbell press for shoulders.
