Hello Lauren,

Start with a multivitamin for active women, B complex and a calcium/magnesium/vitamin D combination taken with a meal. You dont want to become obsessed with taking handfuls of suplements, make an appointment with your Doctor for bloodwork that can tell you exactly what you may be deficient in. You will then be well informed when making your supplement choices.

Sincerely,

Food. A well-balanced diet. In my opinion, simply because someone works out daily, that fact ALONE does not necessarily translate to the need for vitamins and supplements. I agree with Yvonne that before starting a regimen of vitamins and supplements it's probably best to check-in with your healthcare provider and I would throw in perhaps also a registered nutritionist or RD.

I think that sometimes we are too quick to look to other substances to take the place of time-honored eating well.

LaRue answered this question right on the money!

I worked at a vitamin store for quite a while and my constant reminded to people was lets discuss what this department is again - Supplements. (supplement your food) Therefore make sure you a eating a healthy well balanced diet (please understand what a healthy balanced diet is) before you start blowing money on supplements. If you eat right - there is not a need for supplements. I am not anti-supplement but I am pro-food and why would you spend money on supplements when you can get everythign you need from food.

Feel free to ask me any other questions,

JM
