Question asked by Shane Fennelly 243 days ago
web conferencing
I have a subscription to GoToMeeting.com and would like some advice on how to host a successful webinar that is directed towards gym members. Hosting a webinar seems like a good idea but I am having trouble on the approach and are there better services then GoToMeeting?

Hi Shane!
Webinars are great (more work) but I'd do a free teleconference where you just "talk" and people can hear and ask questions (you can also mute them out which I do). I have them submit questions prior to the teleconference.
So, something like this "7 Secrets to Stay Fit During the Holidays" Everyone wants to know this right? :)
You can promote through your social media, email contacts, gym contacts and let them know they can tune in or get a FREE replay.
I use http://www.freeconference.com/ Totally free unless you want the recording $6 for replay sent to your attendees.
I had over 130 people sign up for my teleconference and I use it now for other promotional ads and giveaways in my email newsletters etc.
Hope this helps and good luck on your call!

The best alternative to GoToMeeting.com is RHUB (www.rhubcom.com). You could host unlimited webinars with RHUB web conferencing appliance. They provide free webinar recording for you share with attendees.

I like freeconferencing also. Teleclass leading can be a book in itself, but here are a few tips.
Prepare prepare prepare
Have fun
Give attendees a ground rules of telclass attending
Make your point and make it again
The more the merrier
Don't teach, focus on the learning
Class title max 20 words, catchy and intriguing
Keep the class discription to 100 words
Know your audience
Plan at least 3 weeks out
Include instructors credentials, name and background
Know your style, peppy, warm, engineer type etc
Is it free?
Make registration clear and explain freeconferencing
What do you want them to know?
What are the benefits of your tele? Feelings
Enough for now
