Thoughts on creating a web series that will talk about how to improve your gym through marketing ideas and strategic business
Here at Motionsoft, were always trying to help our industry flourish. So we are wondering what your thoughts would be if we started a youtube series that was geared toward teaching gym owners the ins and outs of the industry and subsequently how to improve their personal gym. Trainers and gym owners would you watch something like that?
Please feel free to share your ideas!
Out of curiosity, how would Motionsoft's content distinguish itself from what's already out there and available?
Thank you for thinking about the good of the industry!
I have my own studio with no ambitions of ever having a gym with membership and all, so my personal answer is: No, I would not.
However, when I think of some of the questions that I have seen here and elsewhere, there appears to be a need for greater business understanding in general for trainers starting their own business. It sometimes seems that trainers have put a lot of emphasis on the development of the personal training skills (as they should), but neglected the business side.
One of the most integral parts of Motionsoft as a business is our ability to access valuable resources. We have readily available access to industry-wide statistics in addition to an executive board with over 120 years of combined experience in the fitness industry. We also know a lot of very important people in the fitness industry (outside of motionsoft) who have immense knowledge and experience in certain aspects of the fitness industry. We bring in people on a regular basis to conduct webinar's and blogs that correlate to a specific segment of the fitness industry. For example the chairmen of TMI Salt Pure came in a few months ago and discussed the importance keeping up with the latest pool technology and how it can improve member retention and referral.
Generally speaking, our business does not only revolve around software, but also as a solution to various issues pertaining the the business-side of the fitness industry. We care more than just you buying our software. We care about improving the industry as whole and helping individual business owners thrive because in reality, without those people working hard on their gym we wouldn't be a company to begin with. Much of the videos you see on youtube are usually just one individual who brings an opinionated approach. However, we would like to create a more well-rounded web series that would discuss various topics and be conducted by many different people from different backgrounds, education and experiences.
We currently conduct webinar's that encompass this idea but they are only available to people who register for them and therefore the range of viewers is limited. That is why were trying to broaden our demographic by getting it up on youtube and other social media outlets.
Hope this answer's your question
So many gym owners are business people but not fitness people or people people
There are so many issues and details that go on in a gym environment.
The topics are limitless
I have consulted with a few gyms and have given them many suggestions geared towards increasing their professionalism and monetary intake.
