Ahh Yes! I had planned the workout, for the record it was possible to over prepare :-) It was one of the most rewarding moments for me. I enjoy the nervousness of doing something new for the first time, the preparation, executing and studying what I did.

The great thing is I had a awesome mentor who provided me with great critique of the training, still valuable information, keeps you humble.

Hi Curtis. Honestly, I after 18-years of training, I don't remember my very first client. :-( I do however have some warm and wonderful memories and stories of the many clients who have touched my life over those years. Many are still friends and we share their many life successes, failures and challenges by staying in contact.

I remember my first client. She was a friend and I was looking to gain some experience and put the "nervousness" of that first client behind me. I prepared, reviewed all the forms and even practiced that first session to be sure it made sense. I was nervous...but things went great! She stayed on as a client for close to 2 years! I've changed some things up since then and don't plan my sessions in quite the same way, but I still get nervous for all my first client sessions. I want to do right by them! I want them to have a great experience. And if I'm really lucky, we'll have a lot of laughs along the way, and I may even learn something new!

How could I forget ...... It was at a very small apartment gym. I was so anxious to show what I can do that we trained for well over an hour ....... And she was suitably sore the next day (and the day after, and the day after, .......).

She is still a client; in fact, I see her today :-)

Yes I do; it was almost 30 years ago and I had no idea what I was doing! She loved my group fitness classes and asked me to train her privately. I trained her until about 5 years ago when she moved to Florida. She is still working out at almost 80 years old.
