Question about degree requirments to become a Clinical Exercise Specialist
I'v recently have attained a "Biology B.S." degree from UC Santa Cruz and am looking to become a Clinical Exercise Specialist. I read in the packet that one of the pre-reqs to become one is to have an degree in "Exercise Science", does mine qualify? If not, what should be my next steps?
I hope that this helps.
Having earned one of the ACSM's clinical credentials, I can tell you that you will need to have 500 hours of clinical experience. This must be documented and sent in to the ACSM. They will also need evidence of where you performed your clinical experience.
They will ask for references which they check. After you meet their requisites and submit the required fee you will get a voucher to take the exam. The voucher is valid for one year.
This will give you plenty of time to study for the exam which is incredibly challenging.
All the best to you!
