Opinion on free weight equipment manufacturers?
We are putting in a new free weight room in our gym with flat/incline and multi-adjustable benches, linear leg press, smith machine, squat racks etc. I have a couple vendors who have quoted Hoist brand products and Life Fitness strength equipment. Anyone have opinions, good or bad, on these manufacturers? THANKS!
There are so many equipment mfg. out there and it would depend on personal preference. Visit some of your local facilites and see what they have and try them out. Take notes, ask members what they prefer and visit a fitness conference that has equipment vendors.
Also don't overlook buying used/re-mfg. equipment as well...you can pick up some great deals with warranties included.
I Hope This Helps!
when it comes to free weight equipment, the difference in brands is not that significant because adjustments on those usually are limited.
Brand differences become more relevant when you look at regular strength training machines. Looking at individual weight stacks (or individual plate loading) and multiple adjustment to accommodate different body types are considerations there. Also thinking of the clientele who will be using the equipment will determine if you go with smaller increments and overall 'lighter' machines.
(Having said that: I never warmed up to the Life Fitness Hack Squat. But that is a personal preference. I know people who love that thing.)
Good luck with your purchases.
Do they offer a 30 day trial period?
What sort of warranty, guarantee do they offer?
