Ryan, I guess easy is relative. That word easy kind of scares me as I don't think there is easy money to be earned in our industry. However, to answer your question, I have two easily implemented ways to generate extra revenue provided that the fitness professional wants to utilize the products of the two companies that manufacture the product.

One of the products is a downloadable app that costs $6 and .10 for each use it relates to postural screening and it is fantastic! The fitpro must have the new generation iPod,iPad or iPhone in order to utilize this app. One can then charge a fee for a digitized postural assessment. The other a product I stock at my studio is called Kangoo Jumps. I love the product personally so I became an authorized dealer, I carry the product at my studio and sell it for profit.

Another thing I am seriously thinking about since I have already branded myself is to purchase small equipment and items. water bottles, t-shirts, small equipment and brand it with my company.

Lastly, I have a friend who is a fashion designer and I shared with him an idea that I have for a clothing line and he is super duper excited. He actually said I shouldn't say anything to anyone so I can't tell you. Who knows what might happen with this?

Thanks for your question.

I am an authorized dealer of a few products that I myself enjoy and respect. I display these in a catalog that I produce (always only a few at a time, they're small so they're cheap) my clients look through and sometimes show to their aquaintences and everyone orders what they like. I simply fill the orders when I get them and they pick them up or pay a small shipping and handling fee for me to have them delivered. I actually filled a few orders to out of state addresses too.

I noticed that you aren't on LinkedIn. You seem to do so well at marketing yourself I was shocked not to find you or Focused Wellness there networking away already. I just got into it myself but it has connected me with all types of professionals. Its still in its infancy but, my how its grown as of late. Ever since Obama was gave it some exposure. Anyhow, I thought you might be interested in another avenue, and if you do, let me know.

Easily? I suppose being myself is ease, and therefore that brings me clients. Furthering my education while challenging, brings new opportunities easily, as I expand my horizons. Sixteen years ago I started as a personal trainer, and have moved to coaching, designing group programs and workplace wellness. While what I consider growth was easy, it was not a short journey.

Engaging ideas may come easily but they grow from the seeds we have planted.
