I'm looking for affordable fitness flooring for a boot camp fitness/personal training studio. Any recommendations?
I'm opening a new studio where I will primarily offer boot camp style training, TRX and Personal training. I need flooring but don't have a big budget.

Astroturf. It works wonders for cushioning and really gives an athletic feel to the environment.
Thanks Stephen. I love this idea. I'm a bit hesitant as I'd like to sublet to a yoga instructor and maybe Zumba to fill the hours I don't use and help with the rent. I'm not certain what they'd think of that flooring. I have seen it in one other studio and it looked great. It's good to hear that it has good cushioning properties.

I put regular carpet padding under mine but I have purchased some interlocking mats that I overlap the floor with for other activities. Its a little time consuming to put down but it gets faster every time I do it. And I teach yoga regularly on the turf and get comments all the time on how it gives an outdoor (nature) type feel to the sessions.

Hello Jessica Daly, I have recently installed hardwood flooring into my GYM. And which was working well so I would like to suggest you for Hardwood Flooring to your fitness/personal training studio.

I also like the rubber interlocking padding.
Ideally, a sprung wood floor would be great but costy.
I don't like laminate, really slippery and has no give.

Rubber rolls tend to be the most affordable flooring solutions. There are many advantages to rubber rolls besides the affordable price too. It gives you the least amount of seams and is easy to install. 3/8" thick is a common for most facilities because it can handle weights being dropped on it. If you will not be doing this you can go a bit thinner. Most all these rolls are 4' wide and can be secured to the floor with carpet tape. There are different colors available. Remember that plain black shows all the dirt so you may want to go with a speckled color such as gray. Good luck and a great place to find a big selection of affordable flooring is http://www.ironcompany.com

I ordered interlocking rubber tiles from rubberflooringinc.com
After much research for both quality and price, they were, by far the best.
The tiles I purchased are reversible and shipping is FREE!
