Online! When people want something they rarely think about ads they've seen. They just google it. If you spend $50/mo you'll start to be found on the internet in not too long (depending on where you live and how competitive the market is there). Options are Google adwords, being on paid directories, and paying someone (if you don't have the time) to put you on free directories. There are many options, but the best bang for your buck is almost always online.

I would budget more than $50.

Depends on your niche.. a lot of marketing can be done for free if you just do the footwork. Start with local businesses and try to do something where you can advertise them if they advertise you with a small referral fee. Start with a target market analysis then work on what marketing you can afford.

Get great business cards with a fitness tip on them and hand them out often.

With todays online marketing tools, a nice website can be built and maintained with a $50 budget. Couple this with free social media sites such as Facebook and you will be able to reach a lot of people!

I had just slightly less than this when I first started on my own. I purchased website hosting and T-shirts with the web addy on them. These went out to EVERYONE I could get to wear one. Had an added benefit of brand recognition as well.

Social media is the big ticket here just as a few have mentioned above. Don't forget about making and posting your own Youtube videos. They come in handy in your social media campaigns but Google loves them and will index them all over the place. Good luck!
