I made the transition to personal training after 10 years in a corporate job. It seemed overwhelming at first, but its completely achievable.

Look at where your current position and your desired position overlap. What current skills do you already possess and are exhibiting in your current job that you would need for your desired position. List those under you job experience for your current job. Also be sure to list your experience with your 2 current clients. I even had my current clients write me a reference. Then you can include that with your resume.

I also listed all of my education and continuing education for both of my career fields. I also included a cover letter which explained why I made the career change and my passion for personal training. It also explained why my prior experience in a different field would benefit me as a trainer and my clients.

Good luck! Use all that prior experience to your advantage!
