I've been using this one, it's called:

"Haunted" by Matthew C. Shuman. I downloaded it off of Amazon.

Keeps me and the rest of my aerobics class moving the whole time!! Love it!!! :)

Good luck!

Hey Rob,

I have an even better website. You can create and download your OWN selections...Not music somebody else selected. Great website....

www.clickmix.com

Try it...!

And, you can use each song up to three time to create another CD or MP3 download....great, huh?

I love ClickMix as well but if you have a smartphone, you can download an app called Tempo Magic & you can adjust the beats per minute to your own music library on your phone. You can increase or decrease the tempo 12% either direction. It's really a very cool app. I paid $4.99 for it & it's worth it.

The speed really depends on several factors such as the fitness level and age of your students, how advanced your class is, and the type of moves you are wanting to incorporate into your workout.

Ranges can be anywhere from 120 - 135 bpms based on the above factors.

You want to have different line ups of music so that you are prepared in case you have a lot of new people come to a class - you can take it down a level and introduce them to the class and watch their form. On the other hand, if you have a class with your seasoned athletes, keep a higher bpm mix and step it up for them.

YES Fitness Music has some awesome 132 count music. I especially love their "Spring Buzz". You can download it and get it right away and it can be sped up or slowed down as appropriate for you class.

According to the current AFAA Standards and Guidelines.

118-128 bp
128-135 bpm (advance)

*advance is someone who can step with proper body alignment and technique.

It's good to have the occasional reminder that there are lots of ways to increase intensity for Step that do not include using manic music speed, which, sadly, is too often the case in clubs/gyms across the country. I've seen classes where the instructor and her entire class were on 12 inch benches, holding 10 lb handweights in each hand, and stepping at 148 bpm. Yikes.

I am a big fan of clickmix as well. Per Elaina's suggestion, I'm going to check out Tempo Magic as well.
