I believe that if you want to establish yourself as a fitness professional, you should get the accredited certification but, it is not necessary. I have encountered many fine fitness pros without accredited certs. but most all of them have degrees in their field.

Hi Jerry. The answer to your question is "it depends on who is asking." By this I mean that in certain circles this is VERY important, but in others not so much. Our industry is very broad, and the credentials and certifications that we can obtain are varied. In some portions of our industry, this type of accreditation is vital and required; but, not in all segments of our industry.
