Hi Angel, thank you for your interest in getting your certification through us. If you go to the Certification section of our website at http://www.acefitness.org/getcertified/default.aspx you will find all of the fitness professional certifications we offer, which you can choose from based on your experience and interests.
We just recently launched our new interactive, video-led study guide called ACE Academy Elite for our Personal Trainer Premium and Premium Plus bundles. We're very excited about this feature, as it will be a very useful tool for our students while they're studying for their exam.
If you have any questions please feel free to email us support@acefitness.org. Thanks so much!

Go to acefitness.org and look it up. I recommend purchasing the manual and studying. Then, you look up when and where you take the test. Take the test, pass the test, and you're in. I recommend being ACE Certified because once you are in, you get great benefits! You do have to renew every two years.

You can go directly to ACE headquarters in San Diego if at all possible to buy the ACE Personal Trainer book a little less expensive. Take your time digesting all of the information in it, as it is very much like studying a college text book and you don't want to take the test twice! Any hands-on; i.e. shadowing a good mentor in a gym, etc. is very helpful to put all of the book knowledge into realistic terms.

Hi Angel,
I personally ordered my ACE materials online and prepared for the ACE "Personal Trainer Certification" at home. They recommend that you allow yourself about 6 months to study for the exam, I chose to do it in half the time. It was a lot of reading and studying since the time was condensed so it was pretty intense, but I was motivated and excited about becoming certified as soon as possible.

And after you are certified, I recommend lots of continuing education and personal development.
If you are ever coming to the Big Island of Hawaii, consider taking some CECs with me. You can write it off on your taxes as well. (How much depends on how much time you spend taking CECS. How many days with time spent, I believe. But check with your tax guy to be sure.)
