How many of you like the mind/body classes?
Do you have a yoga or pilates certification? How long have you been teaching?

Hi Robyn,
I have MELT (Myofascial Energetic Length Technique) certifications which is another mind/body modality. I have been certified three years ago and teach it both as group instruction, one-on-one by itself and integrate it into other personal training modalities.
I also have a Pilates certification but really do not use it at all,

I have never heard of that before but I find it interesting. I also work with special populations and am always looking for new ideas. Thanks!

You are welcome. I have never had such a positive response from anything else I have done, and I have been around as a trainer for about 17 years.

The next certification I am interested in is the willPower Method, so yeah, I'm all about mind/body...and feet!

I've also participated in a bootcamp that ended with a quick meditation, hands to the heart and a Namaste so to me that says the whole body experience is being embraced everywhere!

Hi Robyn. I consider that I practice mind-body training almost everyday that I work with my athletic clients. I constantly give them combined physical and mental challenges by having them process mental calculations and answers WHILE performing challenging physical exercises. I also work with them on a lot of mental imagery. I have found these practices to help my young athletes immensely with their concentration and mental toughness.

Yes! I only wish I could get my clients to slow down and see the benefits of meditation and the mind/body connection. I try to incorporate it in as much as possible through closing mediation, imagery or yoga poses (clients love corpse pose with imagery or a mediation!).

I integrate mind/body into all my training but I specifically teach classes in Qi Gong. This "mother of Tai Chi" is easy to learn and adaptable to all fitness levels and age groups, emphasizing posture, breath, flowing moves and meditation. I've seen amazing results!
