Question asked by Valorie Williams 1817 days ago
Hello, are there specific requirements to help instructors complete their required hours?
I am opening an online gym and would like to provide another avenue where indiviudals working towards their certifications can get their hours. I am looking for companies that I can get verified through so I can be advertised as an avenue for their students. Also want to make sure I meet all requirements for the companies so all the time students hours put in is counted. Any advice?

I'm not sure I correctly understand your question. Required hours typically applies to an individual already certified so he/she can remain certified. By companies are you referring to certifying bodies (is this what you mean by "verified?")
If so, contact that certifying body to find out their requirements.
Good luck in your venture.

Hi Valorie,
I believe you are referring to continuing education. Each organization which offers a certification requires their instructors/trainers/specialists to complete a specific number of CEU's in order to keep their credentials. If you wish to add your location/business into their workshop/clinic list, I suggest you should contact the organization(s) you would like to work with and get more information regarding their requirements and process needed.
I hope this helps.
Best,
Harris

Hi Valorie,
I am with Harris. If you want to be a CeC provider for any certifying agency, you have do apply with those agencies. Here is an example of an application form from ACE https://www.acefitness.org/conedproviders/default.aspx. I would assume that all the others have similar processes.

Thank you for your answers. I will look into different companies and see what their requirements are. Continuing education probably would be the easier route to look into so thank you for bringing that to my attention. I was looking into individuals who are trying to get certified for the first time and needing the hours of teaching the class or participating in the fitness class. The question is a bit different because most people go to studios or classroom to get this type of participation but your answers were helpful and gave me a better idea on how to approach. Thanks again!

Are you seeking internships for your students? If yes, you might want to speak with WITS.
Best to you.
