I have posted on Facebook occasionally when a new session starts at my local rec center where I teach to try and recruit. Also, occasionally talk about how great class was last night etc. hoping to get questions on where and when.

I have been using Facebook for over 3 years to promote my business and it has taken me to the next level. I have my business on there and EVERYONE that even tries a class I friend request and ask them to "like" my page. It helps me stay in contact and if they didn't sign up right away they are able to see specials I'm running and a lot of times they come back.

Hi Mark...not so much for attracting 'clients' persay...but attendees to any MasterClasses or Zumba Fitness events. Though via social networking, I have met a few 'friends' that have visited my neck-of-the-woods (Las Vegas, NV)...we get together for a Zumba Fitness class....
Also, there are 'sub' requests sometimes too....

I have a YELP business page which has served me very well. I have attracted several new clients who would have never known i existed with it. I also have a FB business page however that is for information exchange mostly.

Definitely! Follow a map...but make sure the point is to engage and interact rather than to post specials or directly sales. It's social- but sometimes we're missing that focus and using it as advertising.
Post an article- a piece of value about hot topics in your environment, to establish yourself as the expert and get people to "share" or "like."
Video live classes, sessions, testimonials...and then post them! Ask for viewer votes or comments or a "caption" to a photo- so that the audience is interacting with you and having fun with it...saying "did you see X?" to each other on the phone or in the locker room is great!
Think YouTube..to your website to Facebook to twitter..
