I've been teaching a weekend barefoot boot camp class for years now. I actually do a combo kickboxing/boot camp class which evolved from my standard fitness kickboxing classes taught during the week. And since I teach in a martial arts school, all of our classes are taught barefoot. Target shields and wavemaster bags are kicked with barefeet.

I saw the article posted on IDEA's website on a sample barefoot boot camp class http://www.ideafit.com/fitness-library/sample-class-barefoot-boot-camp-1 ... although it seems to be all the rage these days to train & run barefoot, it's nothing new to us martial artists! The muscles in our feet grow stronger, allowing for a better foundation and improved balance.

I also incorporate a variety of equipment in my boot camp that are used barefoot such as the TRX, Lebert bars, Bosu, stability ball, etc.

Thanks for your answer, Debbie! I also teach my Barefoot Bootcamp class at a Martial Arts studio! I love it and feels like it also improves muscle strength in your feet, balance, and even posture! Sounds like we are doing a lot of the same things! I just bought an Xtender for my TRX so I can use it in class! Can't wait! It was fun to read about your class and talk to a fellow Barefoot Bootcamp teacher! Thank you for sharing!!!
