Food Combining
I just recently came across food combining and was wondering if anyone has done it and what were your experiences? In case you don't know what it is here is a quick reference link http://www.alderbrooke.com/chart.php

Never heard of it either. It certainly looks interesting and seems to promote healthy eating.

I've heard of it and for the most part is how I eat. I don't however, endorse this way of eating for my clients as it is not within my scope.
I began food combining in the nineties after reading a book called "Fit for Life" written by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond and subsequently read a book called "The Original Natural Hygiene Weight Loss Diet Book" written by Herbert M. Shelton, DP, ND, Jo Willard and Jean A. Oswald.
The premise behind food combining is properly combining food groups to facilitate digestion and weight loss. For example, no carbohydrates are eaten with high water content foods like vegetables and salads, fruit should not be combined with starches or proteins and proteins should not be combined with carbohydrates.
Personally, I feel great when I eat properly combined meals but don't thoroughly buy into the idea that one can't eat proteins and starches together or have fruit, cheese and crackers. Many cultures eat "improperly combined meals" and have a lower incidence diabetes and diseases associated with poor eating habits.
Every now and then I get an urge to have a nice tuna sandwich and I have it. The next day, however, I make sure I return to my eating habits.
