Good article Kisar!
I know some sports drinks have hidden sugar which should be avoided as well. Those sugar carbs. can contribute to dehydration.

Sincerely,
Michael

This is a good article, Kisar, and you have covered your ground well.

I would add that dehydration can also be a problem with swimmers even though this seems counter-intuitive.

Hydration, hydration. Even when you don't think that you want a drink of water.

By the time that you are thirsty, you are well on your way to dehydration. I've competed in very hot conditions, as I'm sure you have. Just drink lots of water.

Take care.

Kisar, I enjoyed your article very much.

Just thought I might included ACSM positions stands. When I am writing articles, I tend to look at the research outlined in their position stands in order to give me direction.

Well done and best to you!
