Does snowboarding 2 hours count for cardio?
I do snowboarding 2 hours/day three times a week and I was wondering if it really counts for cardio. If not, what could I add to my daily routine such as weight training or cardio? Other days I alternate cardio (aerobics) and weight training (upper body, lower body, then total body) . The problem is I don't really have time for 1 hour training myself the days that I do snowboarding. Can anyone answer my question please? thank you :)
it certainly does in my book, but other are of the same opinion. See this link http://www.mycaloriesburned.com/calories-burned-snowboarding/. As you can see in the link, the amount of energy expended also depends on your skill level.
And it is great that you do all the other things on alternate days so that you have a well-balanced exercise routine.
So just keep on snowboarding while the snow lasts and have a lot of fun doing it.
You are burning calories by manipulating and balancing.
It also takes strong abdominals and leg muscles!
