Do you think preschoolers need more physical activity in the school curriculum?
I'm wondering what parents and teachers of preschoolers think about how much physical activity kids are getting these days.

Developmentally speaking, I thought that is what "preschoolers" do naturally--play. I don't know if play time is lacking in the preschool environment.
I remember when my son, who is now sixteen, went to preschool a lot of the learning activities involved playing and after they played they took out their blankets and had a nap.
Too, at that age (3-5) it is challenging to get them to sit for any extended period of time.

I didnt' think it was possible to make preschoolers sit. They will play no matter what, its what they do.

Not necessarily - I think it is more crucial in later stages of development. Also, I believe in physical EDUCATION. (Not just the physical aspect) Many programs provide the activity without the proper education on movement and exercise can do for the body and the mind!
