I get my haircut and keep my stlyist in shape also!
I trade webiste/marking work for bootcamp!

That's about it though, it can get out of control. I have said no to many who have asked, but these two things work out well.

After 16 years in the business I believe I have never traded or bartered. Not out of a philosophical reason, but rather no one provided me a service I wanted to trade, at the expense of having them around me. I may have traded a few limo rides with a buddy.

I trade my daughter's pitching coach for sessions, it works really well for both of us.
My favorite was when I traded with a massage therapist; that ended when she moved to Germany.

Years ago, I traded sessions for massage, and we just did a calculation by the end of the month to determine who owed whom.

Now I am with Danielle; I really do not have anyone who provides 'trade-able' services.

I suppose I would if someone offered a service I needed.

yes, I needed business cards and bartered training services! I don't make it a habit, but if it is something I really need, sure.

Absolutley! I like to work with a close group of professionals that can be integrated to provide the best service to my clients. That said, the massage therapist, chiropractor and I all trade services with one another as well as cross refer exclusively. We like to say we "practice what we preach".

Absolutely!!! I bartered training sessions for business cards, a logo and fliers. Bartering is a great way to build a referral base, gain expertise and much needed services. Most of my bartered training occurs between 1pm and 3pm which tends to be open slots for me during the week.

I have also traded training sessions for massage sessions. It worked until she left the JCC I train at.

I don't use a barter system. I can remember a while back when bartering was very popular and issues of taxes came up about that whole system. I'm not familiar enough with it to know the tax implications, but I would suggest speaking with your tax adviser.
