Boosting Metabolism

MetabolismEnergy Metabolism

I know that eating breakfast, resistance training, getting around 8 hrs sleep are good ways to boost metabolism(increase resting metabolic rate). Any other suggestions?

In addition to what you've mentioned Andrew, eating small frequent meals, and interval training assist in boosting the metabolism.

Have a look in your ACE Essentials of Exercise Science for Fitness Professionals manual to learn why.

Great question!

Lift heavy rest little...eat lots! The body will try to keep up with intake and if you are working out enough to not make your intake excess, your metabolism will go into overdrive.

My opinion... I like HIIT as well.. In addition, get at least 20 minutes of good cardio 3 days per week. (60-80% of your Heart Rate Max at a steady state allowing for warm up and cool down)

Intense (heavy, fast paced, minimal rest, etc.) activity coupled with continuous nutrient intake. Don't stuff yourself but eat often throughout the day. The body learns by force so you'll need to exercise with enough intensity to require constant fueling.
