competition? nope. I raised my rates $10 to $60/hr. I am in a market where nobody really advertises and everything is really word of mouth...I plan on changing that this year. The most active trainer I know is sending me his overflow..so there is not really a competition issue between us.

I see new training studios popping up every month. Also see a lot closing down too. Wouldn't really call any of them competition though. I am overwhelmed this time of year as it is. There is still plenty of training to go around. I did see a new studio open close to me that is charging like $12.50/hr; remains to be seen how that works out for them.

Not so much competition but no camaraderie. I am here in Atlanta, Ga. where most clubs like to advertise celebrity or athletic training, when it is not in the true sense of the word. Chicago, hometown had a great network of clubs and trainers, I still get calls after living here almost 2 years from former clients, I can make a phone call with a handful of trainers I keep in touch with. That is missed most.

I think that in business there is always 'competition' for clients. Whether we actually see it in obvious marketing efforts by our competitors or not, it's out there. Offering great service, staying abreast of current research and trends, educating our clients, seeking to stay ahead of the curve by continuing our own education, and letting people know what you have to offer through marketing are all ways to "compete" with our competition for business.

I hope that this helps.

Hello Curtis,
Compettiton..not really. Every PT has their own way of attracting new clients and I believe competition is healthy. Rates will change amoung PT based on their experience and what type of training they offer.

Sincerely,
Michael
