There are so many variables to this question.
It would depend on, speed, tempo, time, your body weight, cadence, cardiovascular and pulmonary lung function to name a few.
This is something that would be great to do in a lab and compare the two.

Thank you for the responses! I should have been more specific in the question, but I was considering a regular single under median pace. I will be doing more research in this area, and I will give you all more updates as I learn more.

Yeah it would depend on your speed the faster the more you burn!! If you get that new Nike fuel band that will help you keep track and set goals for your self.

Lot's of variables to account for, I think the biggest benefit is to the cardiovascular system.

This also depends on the weight of the exerciser. I believe there is an equation for Jump Rope and Calories. You should search for it.

Not that many! Maybe 200-300, with high hops and very rapid rope speed.
