Shane, here is a list of kettlebell certifications. These certifications are not accredited and should be thought of as advanced trainings or courses.
The key to working with clients using kettlebells is using the kettlebells yourself. Buy a 16 kilogram kettlebell and use it several times per week in your workouts. Learn the basic lifts from a good instructor and spend at least six months using them before you take a course.
If you need a program, contact me and I will give you more details on course preparation. In order to pass the Russian Kettlebell Challenge you will need six months to one year of training. Most of the other certifications are not as physically demanding, but you will learn more if you prepare more.
Buying a kettlebell is also a challenge. I have researched many manufacturers and listed three options; however, I recommend you conduct additional research. There are many factors to consider in all cases, so take your time.
Remember everyone is in business to make money; do not buy into a course in a religious or cult-like way. A kettlebell is a tool, not a lifestyle. The only opinion that matters is yours and your client's.
Good luck!

Hello Shane,
A certification course that is missing in Phillip’s list is the ATSCI kettlebell lifting instructor course www.atsci.org . The method taught at that course is performance oriented rather than purely calorie expenditure focused. The course came to be after a presentation I was doing at the NSCA TSAC (tactical fitness). A team of Navy SEALs from Coronado participated and asked me if I could teach them and certify them on my method. We had our first course at the Colorado State Patrol Training Academy a year after that. Since then we have been serving Special Forces, SWAT, and Fire Fighters. Coaches and personal trainers have also taken interest and we are seeing more in the courses.
The course is worth NSCA 1.5 , ACE 1.4, and NASM 1.6 continuous education credits. There is testing, remote assistance to prepare and strong emphasis on programming and injury prevention.
Feel free to call or email with questions. I just wanted to add this to the excellent reply from Phillip since we weren’t represented. I hope this helps.
