Any One Else Here Work with Fitness Training for Competitive Cheerleaders?
I am a tumbling/cheerleading coach who believes strongly that fitness, strength, and progressions unlock the athletic ability of the athletes. I am trying to figure out a way to merge these two fields seamlessly with balance and flexibility training for flyers, resistance training for bases, and general whole body exercise for other athletes.
I'm curious if others have attempted this, or had experience working with cheer teams in the past. What has worked? what didn't?
I have not, but I believe that everyone should be well rounded with total body work, along with their specialty training. You seem to have a plan well thought out that should work.

But if I was, I'd try setting up a specific program that works with a preseason and season workouts.
Preseason- fitness, strength and progression.
Season- cheerleader work and maintaining.
Just an idea.
