Question asked by Karen Isbister 1781 days ago
Any marketing ideas for our fitness studio?
Our studio will be open in about 3 weeks and we need some marketing ideas. We are working with a PR agency, so I'm sure they will have tons of ideas, but I'd like to hear from others who have their own studios. Thanks!

Get involved in business expos, the chamber of commerce, offer local businesses specials, hand out flyers everywhere, wear your t shirts, offer a month trial for a nominal fee.
Contact your local radio station and see if they will come to your grand opening
Give aways are great also, Vistaprint has great ideas, note pads, pens, hats, bags etc

Hi Karen,
Congrats on opening your studio!
I concur with Susan...Have you done an official grand opening day or weekend yet?
If not organizing a grand opening is a lot of work but worth the effort. Some ideas are to get local radio stations involved (like Susan said), offer something free and immediately satisfying to bring people into your studio like smoothies or lemonade, get banners, and something fun for kids partake in like bouncy castles. Find other nearby businesses to exchange services and deals with to offer your potential members during the grand opening. Sign members up the "grand opening day" only special for significantly cheap prices like $9.99 membership/classes. Have them fill out something short to get their basic information like email and you can then later do email campaigns.
I have other marketing ideas for spring, summer, social media, and charity sponsorships for fitness studios or health clubs on my Gym Business Blog called Gym Insights. If you want more ideas, check it out at http://www.gyminsight.com/blog. I try to post something new every business day.
I hope this helps get your wheels turning and I wish you and your new business the best!

Lawrence

Hi Karen,
Congrats on your new business. All of the ideas offered so far are very good. An idea out of the box would be to schedule and offer free classes throughout the day, so people can experience what you have to offer. You never know, you might actually get some new clients out of this and it will be a great way to show everyone what you will be offering (for a price next time ;-))...plus people love free stuff :-)!!
Best,
Harris

I still think word of mouth referrals is the best form of marketing. Maybve you could run a promotion for the first ___ clients who sign up, they will get a ____ number of classes/sessions for free, and in return they must refer 2 clients. Thats just something off the top of my head. Also wear your company apparrel as often as possible.
